Carlos RománPh.D. student in mathematics

Research interests: My research interests lie primarily in the calculus of variations, nonlinear partial differential equations, mathematical physics, and differential geometry. In particular, I am interested in the three dimensional Ginzburg-Landau model of superconductivity and conformal geometry. The common point in my diverse research interests is about the analysis of singularities in elliptic equations.

I am a third year Ph.D. student at the Jacques-Louis Lions Laboratory of the Pierre and Marie Curie University (Paris 6), under the co-direction of Professor Etienne Sandier and Professor Sylvia Serfaty. My doctoral research is supported by the Foundation Sciences Mathématiques de Paris.
