Among all systems in medical modelling, the respiratory system certainly holds a pole position for complexity. It is indeed a place where many exchanges and interactions take place. The aim of this conference is to bring together scientists from various fields interested in the lung modelling, from mechanical, biological as well as computational viewpoints.
The conference will address some of the following topics :
- air flows through the upper airways,
- oxygene diffusion,
- gaseous exchanges between the blood and respiratory systems,
- aerosol therapy,
- role of the surfactant and lung tissues,
- importance of the parenchyma.
